Litha
Summer Solstice - Yoga Workshop
June 14th, 10-12.30pm, £30
Whitfield Community Centre.
Suitable for all levels.
Come and join us as we celebrate Litha.
“Litha” is the Pagan name given to the Summer Solstice. This is the longest day and shortest night of the year, marking the pinnacle of the Sun’s power to fuel the growing season. From here on out, the Sun will set a little earlier each night until Yule. We recognize and give thanks for its warmth.
As the Sun reaches its highest point in the sky, the Earth is bringing forth the greatest abundance of the year. The crops are reaching their full maturity and the forests are bursting with lush growth. In just a few short weeks, the harvest season will begin, but for now we pause to celebrate the manifestation of what was planted in the early weeks of Spring.
Through our yoga practice we will be connecting with the Litha energy. We will be moving through our yoga practice, (suitable for all levels), using breathing practices, mantra and mudra to full connect to potent, fiery energy.
We’ll be journaling as well as getting chance to deeply relax and restore with a lovely yoga nidra.
Tea, coffee and homemade cake are available after.
To book email:
[email protected]
As always, there will be tea, coffee and cake afterwards.
